Thursday 5th – Sunday 8th August 2010
Once again, Gaunts House will be welcoming friends old and new to come together and celebrate. Our aim is to create a Gathering filled with inspiration and magic, for families and anyone who wishes to live in a more perfect world.
The Summer Gathering is the highlight of our year at Gaunts House. Somewhere between a festival, retreat and garden party, it is a very special event for all ages. The "original and best" of its type, 2010’s Gathering will be the 20th of this long-established and delightful annual event, and the first to be organised and run by Heartbeat, a dedicated team of talented, skilled and enthusiastic volunteers.
This year will see an inspiring array of speakers and workshops. There will be many wonderful workshop leaders introducing a wide range of subjects. You could experience yoga and tai chi before breakfast, drumming or chanting to work up an appetite for lunch, shamanic dancing or a sound bath in the afternoon, before letting your hair down for a good old dance to music performed either in our theatre, or out and about in the grounds. This year, we will be entertained by Praying for the Rain, Seize the Day, Kora Colours, Kangaroo Half Moon and other wonderful acts. There will also be other musical diversions around the site - maybe an accoustic band on our Woodland Stage, or chillout sessions amongst the trees. And for an up-to-date listing of workshop leaders, music artists, stallholders and caterers - please make use of the 'Summer Gathering 2010' drop-down menu at the top of this page (which also includes more detailed information on Booking Tickets, Volunteering, and the Heartbeat group).
We have an area dedicated to therapists and healing where you will be able to receive treatments from therapists practicing shiatsu, massage, reflexology, reiki and other hands-on therapies.
Once the activities of the day and evening have quietened down, there's always the opportunity to gather around the fire pit to tell stories, sing songs and watch the fire under the starry sky.
Camping is peaceful and family friendly in an ancient meadow ... beneath mature chestnuts, cedars and Grandfather oaks. We also have accommodation available in the lovely country house, with views out across the lawns and surrounding countryside.
We have a beautiful walled garden, a lake to wander and wonder around, our own stone circle, an outdoor swimming pool and even a sauna. Merchants from near and far will tempt with their colourful wares, delicious food and drinks.
There will be activities for teenagers and the little ones, including a Wild Skills bushcraft programme for the elder children, circus skills workshops, face painting, frisbee and football on the lawn.
Ticket prices are detailed on the "Booking Tickets" page. The ticket price will cover 4-5 nights camping, plus all workshops, concerts and daily talks. Teenagers come for a discounted amount and children are welcome without charge.
Also, this year, why not hire a beautiful handmade Tipi for the Summer Gathering at Gaunts House and experience the beauty of these majestic structures - with the help of Black Dog Tipis.
