Coming to stay in our Community
|
We offer a supportive environment and a sense of family for inspiration, profound learning, healing, caring, creative expression, listening and togetherness. |
Our Community, which is informal and more inevitable than intentional, is structured to include employed staff, members, guests, students, trainees and volunteers. Our main purpose is seeking and finding our individually right paths. Our processes involve departmental and sharing groups, 'nested hierarchy' and consensual meetings.
The Guest programme exists throughout the year but is less formal in the quiet season from mid-December to mid-March, as are all RGF endeavours.
Everyone other than employed staff stays as Guests of the Foundation. The arrangements for young people and adults are free of money to enable them to come to Gaunts to follow their own path and to study what profound learning means to them. Students may come for free immediately - see below.
All Guests - There are different ways of being here, which can lead to greater involvement and understanding to suit you. This can include work in the gardens and woods, creativity, sharing and service. Everyone helps with simple chores.
Resident Guests - Adults/couples may come for stays of their choice, but not for less than two nights. Join our regular community programme, endeavours, facilities and meals. Choice of accommodation available. To obtain good discounts, plan on a minimum three weeks, (three weeks for the price of two).
Students - People of all ages can stay for minimum one month to maximum 6 months, (or longer if transferring to a different programme), with free bed and board in a simple room in return for half-day energy-exchange: mostly simple chores, in pairs.
Trainees - After a while, you may be invited to join the community, when your stay may become freely supported in return for regular energy exchange.
Members - Trainees who have graduated from the in-house course in awareness, known the FMT, are freely supported.
Volunteers - there are arrangements for locals to join in by the day, please enquire; and for Committed Volunteers - friends from the area and further afield, who commit to regular volunteering arrangements. Free meals and beds, and free access to some courses.
Applications - If you would like to come and see us for a week or more, please write us a letter in your own handwriting, (addressed to 'Personnel'), telling something of your background and why you'd like to come and stay.
We'll send you relevant details, an application form, and invite you for a 'preliminary visit' and interview.
